Features
To ensure optimum performance, the tractor's hydraulic flow and increased system pressure are matched with the backhoe's system enhancing the digging force and overall performance.
Key features include:
- Valve spools have machined-metering grooves to allow smooth operation and precise control of several functions
- Improved feel and feathering capabilities
- Durable sub frame to ensure the tractor frame can handle the forces created from digging and transporting
- Buckets are designed for optimum productivity; available bucket widths are 20.3 cm (8 in.), 30.5 cm (12 in.), and 40.6 cm (16 in.)
- Mechanical thumb allows movement of large and/or uneven-shaped objects
- 3-point hitch draft arms remain on the tractor
The operator station on the 370B Backhoe has been designed for improved operator comfort.
- A strong 3-point stance can be maintained when mounting and dismounting the backhoe using the backhoe frame-mounted grab handle, the console grab handle, and the large boarding step mounted to the stabilizer arm
- Boom and swing locks are accessible from the operator’s seat and have a built-in storage location when the backhoe is in use
- High-back seat provides more operator comfort during longer work hours
- Operator platform with non-slip grips are provided
There are several features that make the 370B Backhoe convenient and easy to operate.
- Seat pivots up when not in use to prevent damage during transport. This feature also keeps debris from collecting on the seat
- Low-profile console allows an unobstructed view of the working area
- Two-lever control is used for boom lift, swing, dipper stick, and bucket
- Streamlined control valve and console provides better visibility to the digging area
- User-friendly, two-lever control is used for boom lift, swing dipper stick, and bucket
- Cushioned boom cylinder provides smooth operation and prevents abrupt contact with the backhoe frame when raising the boom
The boom and dipper are designed with the strength to handle the large loads put on these powerful backhoes.
The 370B Backhoe offers improved attachability by allowing the rear 3-point hitch draft arms to remain on the tractor. Due to a clear instructional decal and improved tolerance, attaching the 370B Backhoe has never been easier.
The backhoe's mainframe fits into rear mounting brackets installed on the tractor. This provides the following important features:
- Vertical or side-to-side movement is virtually eliminated, providing more stability. The design of the mainframe also positions the entire backhoe close to the tractor. Operators are also able to benefit from the total weight transfer between the backhoe stabilizers and loader bucket.
- The tractor chassis is protected because the mainframe integrates the tractor and backhoe combination together as one.
- Once the mounting frame is installed, attaching and detaching is quick and easy.
Installation
- Remove the top link from tractor
- Raise the rockshaft and install the rockshaft storage weldment
- Lift the seat up to clear the tractor
- Back the tractor to within 20.3 cm (8 in.) of the backhoe
- Set the parking brake and shut off the tractor
- Verify that the swing lock pin is installed; if not, install it
- Connect the power beyond system to the backhoe
- Start the tractor and set the engine to low idle
- Lower stabilizers to raise the backhoe until the lower shaft is above the hooks
- Back the tractor up until the lower shaft contacts the tractor frame
- Lower stabilizers until the lower shaft rests in the hooks
- Remove the boom pin
- Lower the boom until the upper pin holes align
- Install both upper install pins and drop the pin handle into the retaining slot
- Raise the boom and install the boom lock
- Raise stabilizers up until they lock
NOTE: Review the operator’s manual for detailed procedures. Detailed instructions are also located on the rear of the control panel.
Removal
- Set the parking brake and set the engine to low idle
- Install the swing lock pin
- Lift the backhoe seat up to clear the tractor
- Without raising the tractor, lower stabilizers to touch the ground
- Lower the boom while keeping the dipper vertical
- Rest the bucket flat on the ground with teeth facing the tractor as shown
- Continue to extend the boom to lightly remove pressure from the upper install pins
- Remove the upper install pins
- Use the boom and stabilizers to lift the backhoe off of the tractor
- Move the tractor ahead 20.3 cm (8 in.)
- Completely raise the boom and install the boom lock pin
- Raise stabilizers up until they lock
- Shut off the tractor
- Disconnect the backhoe hydraulics from the tractor
- Reconnect the tractor power beyond loop
- Remove the rockshaft storage weldment
- Install the 3-point top link
NOTE: Review the operator’s manual for detailed procedures. Detailed instructions are also located on the rear of the control panel.
- Replaceable bushings are available for the swing, dipper, boom, and bucket pivots
- Replaceable bucket teeth are available
Buckets are available in a variety of sizes to fit the job for greater productivity. The 370B Backhoe can be ordered with 20.3-cm (8-in.), 30.5-cm (12-in.), and 40.6-cm (16-in.) buckets. Replaceable bucket teeth are available.
Rubber stabilizer pads are available as an attachment. The pads are popular when operating the backhoe on hard surfaces.
- Rubber stabilizer pads keep scratching and damage to ground surfaces minimal
